About us

Below you can find some information about the studio, the audio technicians, the recording leaders and the ones who mix and master. You'll read as well about the possibility to hire session musicians while recording a (demo) single, EP or album. 
GENERAL

Mid-2014 we had to leave our rehearsal and recording space in the home of one of the members of the (cover) band Local Speed ​​Delivery (no, not because of the noise...), we looked around for a great location to practice with the band and to use as a recording area. Finally, the current building at the Arnsbergstraat in Deventer caught our eye.

 

After a long construction period (the room was completely empty) in which we built a toilet, a double 'box' with 'floating floor' and a kitchen, the room was ready for rehearsals and recordings. From that moment on, we have been focusing more on recording, mixing and mastering. We had been acquainted with that while we were working on making an album for Local Speed ​​Delivery in 2012 and 2013.

 

In short, we started as hobbyists (and actually we still are), but now we are in many areas increasingly professionalizing. Practice makes perfect, and where better to work on your studio skills than in a rehearsal room?

SESSION MUSICIANS

Besides William Swartjes - guitar and (backing) vocals - and Paul Meijer - bass guitar - you can use one of the following session musicians while reccording at our studio:

 

REMCO STELDER:

Drums and percussion.

 

AVALON WIJNEN:

(Backing) vocals.

 

PAUL BONSMA:

Guitar.

Keyboard.

Bass guitar.

WILLIAM SWARTJES

STUDIO EXPERIENCE:

Already when test recordings were made for the album 'Brink Express' by Local Speed Delivery, William was engaged in editing, mixing and mastering of the recorded sounds. Meanwhile, his knowledge of working in a studio - both on theoretical and practical level - greatly expanded.

 

APPLICATIONS:

  • Steinberg Cubase Pro 10.5.

  • Steinberg WaveLab Pro 9.5.

  • A lot of Plug-ins (see 'Equipment').

 

 

SESSION MUSICIAN:

Guitar and (backing) vocals.

PAUL MEIJER

STUDIO EXPERIENCE:

From the production of the album 'Brink Express' by Local Speed Delivery on, Paul is actively concentrated on recording and mixing tracks. In addition, he has provided the artwork for multiple albums.

 

APPLICATIONS:

  • Steinberg Cubase Pro 10.5.

  • A lot of Plug-ins (see 'Equipment').

  • Adobe InDesign CS6.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6.

 

SESSION MUSICIAN:

Bass guitar.

JEROEN KRUIT

STUDIO EXPERIENCE:

Jeroen has long been concerned with the mixing and mastering of his own electronic music. From 2013 on he is the technician and live mixer for the band Local Speed Delivery. Since his collaboration with Local Sound Design Studios, Jeroen get's more involved in working with Cubase and mixing (live) bands in the studio.

 

APPLICATIONS:

  • Fruity Loops.

  • A lot of Plug-ins (see 'Equipment').
